Het 49e International Viola Congress (IVC) vindt plaats in Campinas, Brazil, van 17 t/m 21 juli 2024. Het is voor het eerst dat dit congres in Zuid-Amerika wordt gehouden! Gastheer is de Braziliaanse Viola Society (ABRAV) onder leiding van Emerson Biaggi. Het thema voor dit congres is “Celebrating the fusion of cultures – a world of music for viola“. De Featured Artists van het congres zijn Jennifer Stumm, Tatjana Mead Chamis, Renato Bandel, Georgina Rossi, André Mehmari en Jutta Puchhammer.
Nederlandse altviolisten die bijdragen aan het congresprogramma zijn o.a. Karin Dolman, Emlyn Stam en Kristofer Skaug.

The 49th International Viola Congress (IVC) takes place in Campinas, Brazil, from July 17th – 21st 2024. It will be the first time that this congress is held in South America!
The host is the Brazilian Viola Society (ABRAV) led by president Emerson Biaggi. The Congress Theme is “Celebrating the fusion of cultures – a world of music for viola“, and the Featured Artists of the Congress include Jennifer Stumm, Tatjana Mead Chamis, Renato Bandel, Georgina Rossi, André Mehmari and Jutta Puchhammer.
